D2P Wins Health Broadband Tender

In its first foray outside of the graphic arts industry, D2P has tested well and truly positive. D2P and their carrier partner on this project Access Providers have been successful in winning the tender for the connection of the 110+ site North and West Primary Care Partnership.

When complete this comprehensive data network will deliver unlimited Broadband Internet access to each site and interconnect the PCP agencies, acute hospitals, and DHS Data Centres.

This network will provide enhanced connectivity to enable the significant change to the way consumer/patient information management is handled and will bring many direct and indirect benefits and efficiencies to the PCP agencies.

D2P are providing the Internet gateway hardware for each site and will manage the installation and support for each Agency.

The service utilises the Access Providers WIRELESS Network, which currently covers most of the Melbourne Metropolitan areas and 90% of the PCP requirements. Access Providers will expand its network to include the remaining 10% of PCP requirements.

This network differs from other wireless networks in so far as it is a fixed WIRELESS Network utilising the secure IEE 802.16 (not 802.11) wireless outdoor protocol and the 5.8Ghz Frequency which provides Business Grade symmetrical data services at speeds for 1mb/s to 8mb/s.
